Volunteer with Trent Rivers Trust

Whether you want to try volunteering, find out more about citizen science, or you simply want to learn more about the problems and solutions facing our rivers, it’s fantastic the you are interested in doing something to help.

On this page, you’ll find helpful tips for positive action. Some of them might seem simple or obvious, or be things that you already do – but we’ve included them because whatever your starting point, it’s fantastic that you care enough to want to get involved.Other suggestions here require a bit more time or commitment, but will make a real difference to your local environment and your community.

Become an Events Volunteer

Help more people connect to the Trent by promoting our initiatives at events.

As an Events Volunteer you’ll:

  • Support Trent Rivers Trust staff at events and hand out materials 
  • Following an Induction, you’ll speak to communities about our rivers and wildlife in the Trent

Become a Trent Valley Way Volunteer

Help more people connect to the Trent by promoting and improving the Trent Valley Way.

As a Trent Valley Way volunteer, you’ll:

  • Keep the Trent Valley Way clear through litter picks and reporting 
  • Install way markers along the route and reporting missing or broken markers
  • Help lead guided walks
