Trent Valley Way

It’s a 300km walk from the heart of the Midlands to England’s Humber Estuary.

The Trent Valley Way follows Britain’s third-longest river as it winds from Staffordshire’s Moorlands, along the Trent Valley – bound north toward the sea. The walking route weaves through a lowland landscape carved by glaciers through quaint market towns, big cities, rolling hills, open countryside and pockets of wilderness. If you’re after a balance between nature and culture, urban bustle and rural charm, the Trent Valley Way offers just that and a little more.

It is an opportunity to connect to early Viking trade routes, industrial heritage, the people and communities settled alongside the Trent and the wildlife, including the newly arrived beavers the river supports.
