Welcome to Trent Rivers Trust

What We Do

Together, for a Healthier and Natural Trent Catchment

Rivers are living things. When given the chance, they teem with life. Right now, our rivers are struggling to breathe, and our work is needed more than ever.

At Trent Rivers Trust, we give rivers a hand to help them return to their natural, wild state, so they bring the most benefits to communities and wildlife.

To achieve this, we’re working in partnership.

Our team of conservation and restoration specialists work in partnership with landowners, businesses, volunteers, government bodies and communities to ensure rivers are valued by everyone. We know what healthy rivers look like and what they need, to continue to provide a home to the wonderful wildlife that we all cherish.

Your Wonderful Trent Catchment

For 21 years, we have been looking after the wonderfully diverse Trent catchment. Our rivers weave through Nottingham, Birmingham, Derby, Leicester, Mansfield and Stafford. They shape the Peak District, as the Dove and Derwent babble through UNESCO-World Heritage sites, dense urban spaces, history-making mills and vast stretches of agricultural land. Despite their often very different character and different problem areas, they have one thing in common: They all reach the mighty Trent, whose 271km long journey begins in Stoke-on-Trent and ends at the Humber Estuary.
We know what the problems are, and we know how to solve them. All we lack is unified action. David Attenborough
