Discover the Trent Valley Way in Stoke

A new waymarked walking route through Stoke-on-Trent

We are working on an exciting new project to waymark the Trent Valley Way through Stoke-on-Trent, thanks to nearly £190,000 of Government funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

From now until March 2025, we’ll be creating a safe, attractive and more accessible walking route that will connect the communities and towns that make up Stoke-on-Trent with their namesake river. We will provide interpretation along the route, as well as a range of circular walks suitable for all abilities. We will also deliver local activities designed to educate, engage and energise people about the River Trent, to improve the wellbeing of local people and the river.

Did you know? The River Trent is 298km long and rises in Biddulph, just upstream of Stoke. It flows through the heart of the English Midlands, reaching the Humber Estuary south of Hull.

The Trent Valley Way follows the Trent Valley from its source to the sea.

This project is part of £2.1m being invested in a variety of community initiatives in Stoke via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and we’ll be working closely with other local groups and the city council to deliver this landmark scheme.
