Welcome to the ‘One Voice for the Mease’ web page

The River Mease is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) for its valuable community of fish species and aquatic plants.

In July 2017, a workshop was held for and attended by a wide range of individuals and organisations with different interests across the Mease and its catchment.  During the event a great deal of material was generated identifying the many issues and challenges that exist across the catchment.

A report that includes a write up of much of the material generated during the day is available to view or download River Mease Stakeholder Workshop 2017 Report – Final

Many ideas were suggested during the day to take forward. One of these was a ‘One Voice for the Mease’ (OVftM) group.  This group will look at ways to bring together many of the actions identified.

The first meeting of the ‘OVftM’ will take place later on in 2021, facilitated by the Trent Rivers Trust. More details to follow.
