The Catchment Based Approach (CaBA) embeds collaborative working at a river catchment scale to deliver cross cutting improvements to our water environments. Community partnerships bring local knowledge and expertise and are active in over one hundred Water Framework Directive catchments across England.

Each Catchment Partnership forms the local delivery mechanism to identify the pressures on the water environment, working together to agree common objectives and support a range of organisations to implement solutions.

The Trent Rivers Trust is catchment host for the Lower Trent and Erewash, the Soar, the Dove and the Tame, Anker and Mease. The approach and activities in each catchment are slightly different, mirroring the needs of the individual catchment and the activities which are taking place there.
